Annie Crowder –  Executive Director

Annie Crowder is thrilled to join the team at Oakes Children’s Center as the new Executive Director. With over 28 years of experience working with special needs children and their families, Annie comes to Oakes with a passion for working with students who struggle with emotional, educational, and social skills issues.

Annie has a Master’s in Clinical Psychology and worked as a child and family therapist in community mental health agencies before entering the world of non-public school leadership 17 years ago. Most recently, she was the Head of School at Star Academy in San Rafael (2009 to 2015) and the Director at Sand Paths Academy (1998 to 2009). Her educational philosophy is that it takes a team of diverse professionals to address the needs of the whole child. She is excited to work with the outstanding educational and clinical staff at Oakes.


Dr. Markus Holmberg –
Clinical Director

Dr. Holmberg is responsible for overseeing the mental health services at Oakes, including coordinating client intakes, training, and supervision of the therapists who work at the agency. Since 2008, Markus has been a valuable team member at Oakes, working in several roles, first as a clinician in the SFUSD Partnership Program and Oakes Autism Spectrum Program, and as a program manager and supervisor. He brings a wide range of experience to the agency and has clinical experience from over ten community mental health agencies in a variety of settings: crisis teams, substance rehabilitation, psychiatric hospitals and schools. Markus has training and degrees in psychology from three countries, including a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology. He aspires to nurture a scientific curiosity in people about the human mind at Oakes, and to establish a collaborative approach with students, families and staff, so all our students are able to reach their full potential.


 Megan Rose –
Clinical Supervisor

Megan Rose is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, who joined the Oakes community 7 years ago as a Classroom Clinician, later becoming the Clinical Supervisor for the agency. She has long been passionate about working with at-risk youth and their families, who struggle with emotional and developmental difficulties. Megan also runs a private practice in San Francisco and in total has spent the past 14 years working in residential, community based, hospital and day treatment settings. Megan’s drive for positive change continues to motivate her to support clients with achieving healthier, more balanced lives.

 Dr. Rachel Goudey –
Outpatient Services Coordinating Clinician & Yoga Therapist

Dr. Rachel Goudey is a Registered Psychologist, holistic therapist and yoga instructor in the Bay Area, specializing in practices that integrate the whole person ‐‐ mind, body, and spirit ‐‐ to promote healing and wellness.Rachel has a Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University and a combined 500 hours of yoga teacher training certifications (300 hr Advanced Yoga Teacher and Yoga Therapy Certification and 200 hr Registered Yoga Teacher in Ashtanga Vinyasa). Rachel has over ten years experience working in the mental health field, providing services to at‐risk and underserved populations in residential, home, school, and clinic settings for children, families, and adults and has extensive experience working with trauma, substance abuse, and mood and behavior disorders. Rachel specializes in somatic approaches to wellness and came on board the Oakes team in the Fall of 2016 to help incorporate holistic and wellness practices with clients and staff.

Hanan Katz-Lewis –
CEEP Coordinator

Born and raised in San Francisco, Hanan returned to the city in 2004 after graduating from UC Santa Cruz with a degree in Sociology. He has over 15 years of experience working in many different capacities with the youth of the city. He is a huge sports fan and is always ready to talk about our Giants, Warriors, or Sharks. Hanan joined the Oakes team during the summer of 2008. After serving as the Transportation Coordinator for the previous 7 years, Hanan is excited to transition into his new role as the Program Coordinator. Hanan will be working closely with all of the staff in the CEEP program to ensure we continue to provide the highest level of services to all of our clients and their families.


Dr. Elisa Gambino –
Training Director

Dr. Gambino has been studying clinical psychology and working in the mental health field for the past 10 years. She has worked and volunteered for multiple non-profit agencies in the San Francisco Bay Area providing consultation, crisis counseling, psychotherapy, program development, training, and supervision. Her research and practice has focused on working with children, women and families in the community who have traditionally been underserved, are at risk, and/or who have experienced trauma. Dr. Gambino is going into her 5th year at Oakes and has been in different positions before becoming the training director. This position has allowed Dr. Gambino the opportunity to supervise and teach interns and trainees to provide the services that are vital to the clients served by Oakes. Further, it has also allowed Dr. Gambino to support Oakes as an agency with becoming trauma and development-focused in order to provide the best possible services to the children and families that we serve.

Lawrence Villegas – Director of Finance & Operations

Lawrence Villegas joined the Oakes team on August 2015.  He comes to Oakes with 13 years of experience in the field of IT, Finance, Audit and Non-Profits.  Lawrence has a Bachelor’s of Science in Computer Information Systems from SFSU and a Master’s in Accounting from Golden Gate University.  Before Oakes, Lawrence was the Accounting Manager of Edgewood Center for Children and Families for 4.5 years.  Prior to that he was an auditor in one of the Big 4 CPA firms, KPMG.  Lawrence currently manages the IT, Finance, Contracts and Operations departments of Oakes Children’s Center.
