Comprehensive Child Crisis Service

24 hours crisis evaluation and intervention

 

Comprehensive Child Crisis Service

  • provides a 24-hour, multilingual, crisis intervention and short-term stabilization program for families and children who are experiencing emotional distress related to family violence, physical or emotional illness, school truancy, behavioral problems and other crises. When a troubled family member or concerned observer contacts the program, the family may either arrange to come to the clinic or a crisis team may travel to the home, school or other San Francisco location to evaluate the problem. Evaluation includes assessment for inpatient hospitalization. American Sign Language / Cantonese / Spanish / Vietnamese/Tagalog.​

  • Provides services for victims of community violence (no fee). Services include debriefings and 10 week PTSD treatment.

  • Provides Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) (no fee) for youth and their family. DBT is for youth experiencing chronic suicidal feelings, self-injurious behavior, substance use and truancy. DBT is offered for adolescents between the ages 13-171/2 (at the initiation of treatment). DBT is for those who currently have suicidal ideation; have a recent suicide attempt/gesture; have a diagnosis of borderline personality disorder or must have three borderline personality features that have persisted for at least one-year (e.g. parasuicidal behavior, high-risk sexual practices, substance abuse, truancy, Instigating fights, or other aggressive acts); and both the youth and a significant caretaker must be willing to participate in the treatment program. 

Oakes Caregiver Support and Child/Youth Group: Join us Now!

Join us! Oakes is offering free Group programs on Thursdays at Oakes 5:00-6:30 for all parents/caregivers and children of Oakes Children's Center’s programs. After dinner provided by Oakes, the Parent Group will discuss their parenting experiences and learn with others while the Child and Youth Play Therapy Group will be lead by Oakes' trained staff.
